Volunteering
Volunteering with Scouting is fun and rewarding. Our friendly team of volunteers makes everything we do possible – and we’re always looking for extra support.
Everyone is welcome and you don’t need any previous Scouting experience. You can give as much or as little time as suits you – whether that’s weekly, monthly, or just occasionally.
From helping out at section nights to supporting the Group behind the scenes, there is a place for you. All we ask is energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to make a difference.

Fund raising
Our Group offers our young people a broad and engaging programme to have fun, try new experiences and develop skills that help prepare them for life.
Our term subscriptions cover essential costs such as maintenance of our hall, materials, insurance, and membership of The Scout Association. We work hard to keep additional activity costs as low as possible, using fundraising to make experiences affordable for all.
Here are some ideas on how you can help us raise funds:
Make a Gift Aid declaration
Gift Aid is a simple government initiative which allows donors to increase the value of their donations at no extra cost to them. For every pound given, we can claim an extra 25 pence from HM Revenue & Customs, helping your donations go further.
Subscriptions are considered to be donations and if you haven’t signed up for Gift Aid yet, please do so through OSM or speak with one of our volunteers.

Raise funds through online shopping
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for our Group with easyfundraising?
There are over 8,000 retailers on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Amazon and others – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds. All you need to do is:

- Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want to shop at.
- After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to our Group at no extra cost to you whatsoever!
There are no catches or hidden charges and our Group will be really grateful for your donations.
